National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NIT Surathkal), Surathkal, established in 1960 as the Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC) and upgraded to NIT Surathkal in 2002. The institute has an “A+” accreditation from NAAC and is approved by the MHRD and AICTE. NIT Surathkal provides engineering, management, and doctoral programs across multiple disciplines. NIT Surathkal is ranked 17th in engineering by NIRF and 120th in the QS Southern Asia rankings for 2024-25.
